Let’s talk about history; the first cold drink was made in the 17th century, a combination of water, lemon, and honey. Nowadays artificial sweeteners, flavors, and carbonated drinks have made the cold drinks more hazardous, although it is available at a low price.

The ingredients used in the production of cold drinks caffeine, carbon dioxide, organic diol, brominated vegetable oil, phosphoric acid, acidity regulator (E338). Celebrity endorsements make the population vulnerable to buy cold drinks, making consumers sympathetic to the brand as their idol celebrities are promoting them.

  1. Contains Sugar, Caffeine, And Aspartame:

These contents are present perpetually within cold drinks. Several companies like Coca-Cola are under lawsuit for using aspartame in their cold drinks it causes major disease. Children must be kept away from such harmful drinks. Also, the caffeine present in the drinks can be addictive, which leads to diabetes, anxiety, high blood pressure, and more.

  1. Gaining Weight:

The added sugars that contain fructose, honey, agave nectar when consumed in large quantities have the potential to gain weight. It promotes belly fat and increases the risk of diseases.

Studies show that 25% of the population affected with obesity and overweight is due to intake of liquid sugars from cold drinks since people drink cold drinks with junk food like french fries, pizza, or burgers increases the goals of weight gain and unhealthy diet.

The cold drinks do not have nutritional value and provide no benefits to the health of an individual. The negligible consumption can lessen the effects of hypertension. But if intake of such cold drinks is in large amount, it can cause ruinous effects to your health. It must only be devoured in moderation.

When we ingest more than the normal amount of sugar, it leads to an increase in the level of glycemia. The glycaemic index is from 0-100, which is designated to the food and beverages according to the sugar level present in them. A large intake of this food and beverages causes type 2 diabetes, also called adult-onset diabetes.

The acids and sugars have the acidogenic and carcinogenic capability that leads to enamel erosion and dental erosion-severe decays of incisors and canines and lesions of pre-molars and molars.   1. Water infused with fruits: You can slice fruits such as lime, oranges, strawberries, or cucumbers and add them to water. This will look not only good but also provide necessary nutrition to the body and reduce morning sickness.
  2. Inculcate Juice: You can freshly squeeze apples, carrots, pineapples, orange juice, and more. It will provide you the essential vitamins and minerals required in your daily life.
  3. Buttermilk: Drink buttermilk with a pinch of salt and a dash of ginger, onion, and coriander. This drink will be so refreshing and healthy.
